ART & PERFORMANCE at SWAMP FEST:

Picture

Sean Dunham
Willow Island Host

Sean Dunham is a writer, performer and podcaster from Treaty 4 Territory. His hosting abilities have been described as “important” by The Guardian, “faith-honouring” by Breitbart News and “refreshing snack or side dish” by Minimalist Baker. He is obsessed with Swamp Fest and cannot wait to trod the slimy dock boards once more.

The Swamp Swarm
Zoe James, Iris James, Lazlo Paradis, Suki Kembel, Lilla Fayant and more

The Swarm will once again rise from the green waters of Wascana, joining their friends of the plant, animal, element and human kind! Together they’ll reveal what mere festival going mortals cannot see, fear or interpret. They’ll lead you to secret island crevices and chasms - real and imagined! They’ll surprise and delight you with merry tricks and quirks! Take them by their swampy paws… ultimate adventure and wild abandon await!

Ghost House Studio
Friday Night - YWCA

Inspired by early light art, 1960’s psychedelic light shows, and multi-sensory environments, Lindsey Rewuski (aka Ghost House) explores the physical process of creating analogue visuals in real-time. Her projections incorporate liquids, glass, organic materials, chemicals, textiles, and other found or created objects into live performances that are projected onto screens and stages. The movement and composition of her visuals are both inspired by and contribute to the experience of interacting with music and sound.

Lindsey Rewuski is a multi-media artist and graphic designer who produces work under the name Ghost House. She is based in Saskatoon, SK, and has projected light on stages, festivals and art venues across Western Canada. Find more of her work on Instagram at @ghosthousestudio.

Sir Reginald Reafh
Dignified Guest & Ferry host - Willow Island

Sir Reginald Reafh is a gentleman industrialist and explorer who has dedicated his life's exploits and considerable fortune to the cause of science. He was born in 1876, the fifteenth son to the 9th Earl of Regina. He inherited the name of Reginald and the deeds accompanying it six years later, following his father's tragic death by rat poison accident. Sir Reginald was knighted for his discovery of France in the course of his 1926 expedition to repatriate his missing crystal ashtray. Sir Reginald holds twenty-five PhDs in Science and Beerology from the University of South Wascanaborough, a prestigious non-accredited institution which he also founded. In 2021, Sir Reginald was killed by a flock of subversive geese and presumed dead, until discovered at his remote field laboratory to merely be a ghost. His condition is currently in remission. Sir Reginald is currently working to compile the first complete bottomographical map of Willow Island's interior. In the course of his surveying expeditions, he also hopes to make a taxonomical study of the island's unique wildlife, including the capture of its mythical algae monster.

Swamp Fest gratefully acknowledges the land on which we are privileged to share these experiences. Referred to as Treaty 4 Territory, Swamp Fest is hosted on the traditional lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. As a primarily settler-run festival, we acknowledge the original inhabitants of this land, the historic and ongoing harm that has been and continues to be done, while striving to cultivate deeper respect, understanding and care through our actions.
