FERRY BOAT HOST:
DR. SIR REGINALD M.B.

Dr. Sir Reginald M.B. (Monkey Business) is among the most controversial figures in the scienpalogical community today. According to some (namely, himself), he is possibly the most groundbreaking, muscular, large-brained explorifier and zooptomologist the modern world has ever seen. According to others (namely, everyone else) Sir Reginald is more probably an arrogant, chauvinistic ignoramus; with enough steam blown up a certain location I'd rather not mention in polite company, to power a locomotive engine, carrying enough of a particular substance I'd also rather not mention, to rival the quantities of that same substance which spew from his mouth every time he speaks. In either case, one thing is clear: Sir Reginald is the best (by which we mean cheapest) Swamp guide that money can buy.

EUKARYOTIC INTELLIGENCE MASHUP

Picture
Projections by: Claire Amundsen and Jam's Germs (James Weiss)
Saturday:@ The Cure 9pm - late
Sunday: Willow Island - Sundown

This compilation includes microbes in action and algae in their wonderment, demonstrations of unconscious cells gathering and symbiotic in bodies, explorers hunting for answers, TAB in communicating and our intuition about their formation.

James Weiss got lost in life and found his passion in pond scum. He is the author of The Hidden Beauty of the Microscopic World, the star of the Academy Award–qualifying short film A Body Called Life, and the videographer behind the acclaimed YouTube series Journey to the Microcosmos. Through his lens and words, James opens up a hidden, poetic universe teeming with tiny creatures that shape the world we know. His work makes the microscopic feel both wondrous and strangely familiar, like finding yourself reflected in a ciliate’s shimmer.

THE SWAMP SWARM

Willow Island: Time TBA

The mysterious Swamp Swarm returns to the island to creep and crawl amongst festival goers. Who are they? No body knows, but they seem to grow slimier every year....
Rising from the green waters of Wascana, the swamp swarm seek to join their friends of the plant, animal, microbial, fungal and human realms! Together they’ll reveal what mere festival going mortals cannot see. They’ll surprise and delight you with merry tricks and quirks! Take them by their swampy paws… ultimate adventure and wild abandon await!

(The swamp swarm welcomes children of all ages to join in on the fun! Kids are invited to join  the crew, backstage on Willow Island at 5pm daily to join the swarm.)

SWAMP CARNIVAL

Picture

Saturday & Sunday: 3 - 6pm

A thriving carnival has emerged from the ripe ecosystem of Willow Island. Its intelligence grows with tendrils of fun, abundance, skill, and ambition - cultural capital galore! As games are played, kids young and old realize their curiosity, creativity and gusto are worth more than the TAB tokens to play or the carrot bucks they win and redeem for prizes.

Bring your swamp bling (necklaces from years past, if you held onto it) or be rewarded with a new stylish string to adorn with the latest in swamp accessories.

2 PATCH PIROUETTE

HOSTED BY: 2 Patch the Pirate (aka Piper Burns)
2 patch keeps his treasure tight
But take a spin and share he might
Or perhaps a turn will leave you blue
A sponge to the face, your hand in goo

“Is that you matey?” You may hear him call
I’m afraid his eyes were caught in a trawl
Dragged deep down into the sea
And with them went his pirate dream

So 2-Patch did what many do
When life gets tough and you lose your crew
He loaded up his little boat
A carney life, his only hope

But don’t be fooled by this pirate’s gaze
The senses are sharp when it’s time to be paid
So come on and lay your hard bucks down
As 2-Patch and his Pirouette twirl you round

FISHBOWL TOSS

Players are given 3 swamp algae balls to try their chance at landing one in a bowl with T.A.B. at the bottom! If they land their ball into an empty fish bowl or no fish bowl at all, they may receive a consolation prize :)
