2019 SWAMP FEST SHOWCASE AT CATHEDRAL VILLAGE ARTS FESTIVAL
- Swamp Fest Showcase evening features some great bands as well as music supplied by DJ Tight Flos throughout the night PLUS projections by Eric Hill!
9:30 PM
Veneer
Veneer’s enchanting trifecta of sentimental souls create a musical universe that’s soft, strong, and vulnerable. This gaggle of creators is not your typical three-piece. Accompanied by brass and woodwind, wielding six instruments in total, Veneer’s enticing harmonies and haunting hooks will be stuck in your head for days.
10:30 PM
Ghost Woman - https://ghostwoman.bandcamp.com/
Taking influence from old Italian 16mm films and the acid overdose of the late 60s, Ghost Woman aims to hypnotize and make you forget your cell phone. Ghost Woman inhabits Lethbridge Alberta.
12:30 AM
Black Thunder - https://blackthunder.bandcamp.com/
Black Thunder’s heavy psychedelia has been mutating in subterranean Regina since 2009. Drawing upon the musical instincts of metal-and-psych-adjacent album hunters, their music builds in the borderlands between progressive rock guitar riffs, boggy 70s hard psych basslines, and the amphetamine alleyways of proto-glam drumming.
DJ Tight Flos brings a collection of sweet beats, treats, and tunes to get your bodies moving and your juices flowing on the dance floor and beyond! Don’t you dare not shake it!
Projectionist Eric Hill is always working on something. He’s often creating content for others such as Malty National or Swamp Fest, or co-creating the annual experimental fireplace video known as Sh*t Fireplace. Eric can also be found supporting live band performances with live video projections.
Swamp Fest is dedicated to enlivening alternative spaces throughout Regina’s Core and Heritage neighborhoods through collaboration with the independent music and arts community as well as Regina’s very own swamp monster - T.A.B....the Toxic Algae Blob!
