Films:
Scream for the Monster - Gerald Saul - 2:12
A short animated film about how a mysterious swamp monster came to be responsible for our heroine's distress
File # 90124630801 - Ania Slusarczyk - 2:07
Coming at you from the deepest vaults of SCIENCE, this classified film documents a scientist’s encounter with a thing. Performing a series of experiments to discover thing’s properties, she approaches the Truth.
Sightings - Kent Tate - 4:12
During my childhood I spent countless hours daydreaming. Often about beaming aboard an alien spacecraft where they would ask me about life on Earth. I would enthusiastically tell them my thoughts and observations about this or that, which the space aliens always seemed to find very interesting. In retrospect I was engaging in a transference of my frustration that no one on this planet seemed particularly interested in my opinions.
Filmed on location in southern Saskatchewan Kent Tate explores mysterious phenomena that he found in the Grasslands NP region and in the city of Regina. Among the things he observes is the Monolith from the movie “2001” landing in Gull Lake and a spirit buffalo that suddenly appeared on the side of a building in downtown Regina.
Salome - Jane McWirter - 3:21
Trapped in a state of melancholy Salomé, a witch from the past, searches for something lost. Inspired by the works of Maya Deren with elements of old movie magic and a hint of the supernatural. The music is a mash of components featuring the song "Me and my Shadow" by Judy Garland.
Light as a Feather - Amber Christensen - 2:35
Shot at the handmade film residency at Artscape Gibraltar Point on Toronto Island. Nostalgic summer camp/sleepover rituals are revisited in an attempt to conjure that adolescent spirit.
Beautiful New Yorker - Lenore Maier - 3:31
